A thick cast aluminium thachchi — a deep, round-bottomed frying pan with two riveted ring handles for lifting when full. Built for bulk deep-frying, tempering, curries, and sweetmeats over gas or firewood, it holds heat well and takes daily abuse in a busy kitchen.
