A cast aluminium thachchi — a deep, wide two-handled frying bowl with looped side handles for lifting when full. Built for frying, tempering, deep-frying and bulk curries over gas or firewood, and it takes the knocking about that a busy kitchen gives it. Suits hotel and caterer kitchens, small eateries and home cooks who cook in quantity; the 15" in the name is read here as about 15 inches across the rim, though this catalogue sometimes quotes centimetres.
