A hand-held gas torch head that screws onto a standard butane gas cartridge to give a hot, directed flame rated on the pack at about 3,600 kcal. Use it for caramelising crème brûlée and meringue, blistering and peeling capsicum and tomato, charring meat and fish skin, or lighting charcoal and BBQ grills. Suits pastry sections, restaurant and hotel kitchens, caterers and keen home cooks; the gas cartridge is sold separately.
